Dear Ghoulfriend,
If a married couple became zombies, would they still be considered married after death?
-Ceegee
Dear Ceegee,
In human marriage ceremonies, the phrase "till death us do part" happily provides a legal and ethical loophole that enables the living dead to expediently nullify their marriages and shed their partners along with this "mortal coil." We do not have to resort to messy divorces or murders to break the bonds of the indentured servitude inherent in the connubial condition. The living dead may remain together as couples if they so choose, but we generally prefer to live our lives unencumbered by the rusty chains of vassalage that so often accompany marriage. There is absolutely no compelling reason for living dead entities to wed, or to remain so, after mortal death.
Love,
Ghoulfriend
