Handy Hints

Dear Ghoulfriend,
HELP! I have gotten bloodstains on my "Night Fifty" t-shirt, and they're no longer available from the company which made them. How can I remove these stubborn clots? They're like scabs, honestly! Any advice you can give is appreciated.

Dear Sister,
I can't begin to tell you how many times this has happened to me. Occasionally, I'll get into a feeding-frenzy and I get blood and goo all over my clothes. This recently happened to a great top I'd bought just the day before at The Gap. I just love that top -- it has little snaps up the front and it's a lovely robin's egg blue color. I was having a small party at my place when a great spurt of gore hit my arm. Needless to say, I was more than a little perturbed. I immediately rushed to the laundry room where I licked the blood out of the shirt, and then washed it in cool water (never wash blood stains in hot water!). You can try this, but since the blood has hardened into scabby clots, you may need to suck on the fabric for a while to soften them. Doing laundry can be fun AND nutritious!
Love,
Ghoulfriend
