Dear Ghoulfriend,
Zombies: Decayed or Fresh. What's sexier?
Lovingly yours,
-Nec Romantic
Dear Nec,
I guess that would depend on how long you've been around yourself, and in living death as in life, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. While fresh, nubile rookies do have a certain charm, I fancy the company of older, or more seasoned, zombies. But these things are really just superficial preferences, after all. Decay is an acquired taste, and while it's not a necessity, I find it extremely attractive.
Advanced decomposition doesn't necessarily denote age. Climate, diet and skin care are the primary factors that effect one's appearance. High humidity brings about decay very rapidly, while an arid environment preserves our delicate tissues. Decay quickly builds character; it brings about an instantaneous spiritual and intellectual epiphany few humans ever experience. No matter the actual age of the zombie, decay enables them to finally become completely comfortable in their own skin (if they have any left). They tend to be more relaxed and are able to find humor in most situations. A sense of humor is imperative in our line of work, particularly when one may accidentally lose a body part at an inopportune moment. It's good to be able to laugh at yourself when your nose or an eyeball is dangling by a thread of sinew. Now THAT'S sexy!
Love,
Ghoulfriend
