Why is it that the minute I get some "extra" money, something expensive breaks and I have to replace it or repair it and I'm left broke again?

I hear your pain and I sympathize completely, but evidently no one told you about The Satanic Law of Provisional Financial Stability™. It reads, and I quote: "No decent, hard-working human shall have more than he or she requires for basic sustenance at any given time. In the event that he or she exceeds his or her allotment, he or she shall be confronted with physical, mental, mechanical and/or structural problems of any and all types that will require immediate attention and payment for services to various and sundry minions of Satan, leaving him or her impoverished once again. Amen."
So there it is. I suggest you join your local Satanic cult and begin reaping the benefits for which you've paid premiums for so long.
